Walk in the amphitheater of Bryce Canyon |
Our tour begins at Sunset Point, where we leave the car. In this viewpoint begins Navajo Loop Trail, which is clearly marked. Following the arrows pointing the way, down a steep hill to the area known as Wall Street, a shady area with lots of fairy chimneys around which resemble skyscrapers. Seeing the steep hill we dropped we were glad not to have to go up there.
We continue our way, right at the base and we have a couple of spectacular specimens of ponderosa pines among the rocks of a very narrow passage, and soon the two paths come together, which from this point follow the directions of Queen's Garden Trail.
Our road runs through a forest in which left and right we find spectacular formations of fairy chimneys, and after a short but steep climb, we reached Queen's Garden, where there are a couple of fairy chimneys, one of which resembles queen Victoria, and is the name given to this area. From here, we followed the signs to Sunrise Point, rising continuously and steadily and going through a semi-desert area with spectacular views over the park.
Arriving at Sunrise Point Lookout, and after enjoying the view, we headed for indicated toward Sunset Point trail, some 800 meters down a simple and accessible trail through the forest.
