Yellowstone
Yellowstone is the world's oldest National Park. Founded in 1872, covers an area of almost 9000 km2 (slightly larger than Madrid and a little smaller than Navarra, close to give examples) and is located northwest of the state of Wyoming, although there are areas of the park in Montana and Idaho.

Yellowstone is world famous for its geothermal features, especially its geysers (containing two-thirds of existing geysers worldwide). They are also famous for its herds of bison, but also found in the park plenty of bears, moose, deer, coyotes and wapiti.

The park entrance fee is $ 25 and also allows access to the park Grand Teton, located on south side of Yellowstone Park, but if you have the National Park Annual Pass admission is free.

Yellowstone to reach the nearest airports are Jackson Hole, located 200 kilometers from West Yellowstone and 70 miles from the south entrance of the park through the beautiful park of Grand Teton, and Idaho Falls, located about 170 miles of West Yellowstone. West Yellowstone has an airport but only has use for small aircraft and operates from June 1 to September 30.

To move around use Yellowstone Grand Loop Road, a road in the form of 8 (the top circle is called the North Loop and the bottom is the South Loop) that will take us to the main attractions in Yellowstone. No public transportation inside the park, so if you do not want to rent a car we point us to an organized tour.

Last but no accommodation inside the park, they are quite expensive, with few services and hard to get. Therefore I recommend you stay inside some of the towns near the park entrances, either Gardiner, at the north entrance, or better in West Yellowstone, located at the western entrance to the park, contains all kinds of services and it is located just 20 kilometers from the crossing of North and South Loop, which is very convenient to go to any point of interest in Yellowstone.
